Mission Statement
Helping People Improve their Physical, Mental and Spiritual Health by Laying a Foundation for Healthy Living
Vision
Renew, Revitalize and Restore Health through Simple Lifestyle Principles
What is Vital Force?
Vital Force is a powerful factor in maintaining good mental and physical health. It is part of the complex psychological and physiological aspects of the central nervous system. It directly imparts our quality of life, influences our relationships and our ability to deal effectively with our work, home, and social environment.
Our inability to marshall all our vital forces will result in poor mental health and coping ability. Depression, low self-esteem, burnout, anxiety and grief are a result of a lack of vital force. The psychology of vital force is the foundation for understanding the relationship between the connection of the mind, body and spirit.
HEALTHY
Being healthy means more than just not being sick. Good health is life lived at your full potential physically, mentally, socially and spiritually. The bible calls this the “abundant” life (see John 10:10) and it is exactly what God wants you to have. He says, “I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you.” (3 John 2, NIV).
To help you experience this abundant life; God has given some simple easy to follow steps to better health. You cannot control all the things that cause disease or accidents, however, you can make choices that reduce your risk and promote health.
Above are Eight Vital Force Principles, to help you “Lay a Foundation to Healthy Living.”
Just a few minutes with Darryl Johnson, CPT, could convince you to change your life. The lifelong athlete and personal trainer is founder and president of Vital Force Health and Fitness Inc, a health and fitness company that takes a natural, simple, practical and healthy living approach to helping you look and feel your best.
Johnson coined the Vital Force Body Transformation Program, an exercise program that stretches and strengthens the muscles through resistance training without the use of expensive equipment, but he doesn’t stop there. He rolls his workout into a holistic program, that encourages common sense diet, exercise, sleep, self-control and other healthy principles.
Things like eating a nutritious breakfast, consuming more fruits and vegetables, getting enough fresh air and sunshine, and building in time to reflect are just a few of what Darryl calls the Vital Force Principles, a practical scientifically proven lifestyle program that will teach you how to, “change your lifestyle by changing your life.” He calls this “laying a foundation for healthy living.”
“There are so many programs out there that touch on just one part of a complete program,” he says. “A lot of these principles I grew up following, and science backs that people who actually follow these principles live longer, by up to nine years, and are some of the healthiest people in America.” Once people get a taste of a healthy lifestyle and see its effects, Darryl says, they usually don’t want to go back to their old way of living. It’s getting them to try it in the first place that is one of Western civilization’s greatest challenges. It has also become Darryl’s life’s work.
Darryl grew up in a health-conscious family right here in metro Detroit, and has dedicated his entire life to living a healthy lifestyle and helping others do the same. It saddens him to see so many people walking around overweight, lacking energy, stressed and victims of lifestyle-related diseases such as obesity and type 2 diabetes. What bothers him, is the fact that many of these conditions are the direct result of following unhealthy lifestyle habits. Darry knows there is so much confusion and conflicting information out there when it comes to doing what it takes to stay healthy. No wonder so many people are confused and discouraged, and ultimately give up the idea of changing.
Darryl can show you how simple and enjoyable it is to live a healthy lifestyle. More importantly, he can show you how to maintain it for a lifetime. His motto: “To change your lifestyle it is vital to change your life.”
It’s a program that he both promotes and exemplifies. Darryl is calm, slender, toned and jovial – a well-oiled fitness machine. His eyes sparkle when he talks about the benefits of a balanced breakfast. Who wouldn’t want to feel like that?
With Darryl, it all begins with a consultation. He interviews each new client about his or her own goals, challenges and lifestyle. He then develops an individualized program that combines personal training with life coaching to give his clients that extra push they need. That can mean anything from attending healthful cooking classes and guest lectures to joining Darryl’s bootcamp. The program may be centered at the client’s home or based at the gym. Whatever it takes to reach your fitness goals, Darryl Johnson will help you tap into your “Vital Force” and work it out.

What is a massage?
Massage is a general term for pressing, rubbing and manipulating your skin, muscles, tendons and ligaments. Massage may range from light stroking to deep pressure. There are many different types of massage, including these common types:
- Swedish massage. This is a gentle form of massage that uses long strokes, kneading, deep circular movements, vibration and tapping to help relax and energize you.
- Deep massage. This massage technique uses slower, more-forceful strokes to target the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue, commonly to help with muscle damage from injuries.
- Sports massage. This is similar to Swedish massage, but it’s geared toward people involved in sport activities to help prevent or treat injuries.
- Trigger point massage. This massage focuses on areas of tight muscle fibers that can form in your muscles after injuries or overuse.
Massage is generally considered part of complementary and alternative medicine. It’s increasingly being offered along with standard treatment for a wide range of medical conditions and situations.
Studies of the benefits of massage demonstrate that it is an effective treatment for reducing stress, pain and muscle tension.
While more research is needed to confirm the benefits of massage, some studies have found massage may also be helpful for:
- Anxiety
- Digestive disorders
- Fibromyalgia
- Headaches
- Insomnia related to stress
- Myofascial pain syndrome
- Soft tissue strains or injuries
- Sports injuries
- Temporomandibular joint pain.
